"Bet you didn't know I saw an angel Wednesday night~ Yup, sure did. She stood about three and a half feet tall, with strawberry blonde hair, a sweet smile and a voice...well...like an angel. Her name is Lindy and she happens to be in Mrs. Verrill's class. Most of you don't know Lindy, but I have to work really hard to get a glimmer of a smile from Lindy when I see her, because she tends to be on the slighty introverted side. Much to my amazement, however, Lindy stood up in front of four hundred people during the art and music show and sang a solo that would have melted the heart of Mr. Snow Miser himself. Okay, crying jag number two, although it was more of a blinking back tears, can't swallow because of a big lump in my throat kind of cry. It was another one of those out of body moments, with me thinking, THIS is SO why I do this job~" ~Laura Shaw, Principal
Mrs. Verrill printed this out for us and I got a little weepy-eyed when I read it. When Lindy got up there and sang loud and clear as a bell into the microphone, I was holding back tears, too. I know I had a ear to ear grin on my face and I kept thinking, "That's my little girl!".
